English : King and his three sons 

There was once a king in India who died leaving behind three sons. The eldest of them would have become the king after his father, but the captain of the king's army was hungry for power. He drove the three sons away and captured the kingdom for himself.  The three sons did not know what to do. They travelled a long way. At last they reached an inn. After they had taken their meal, they asked each other how they could get their father's kingdom back.Deva was the eldest of them. He asked his brothers, “What is the finest thing in the world?”  “The finest thing in the world is power”, replied Shankla, the second son.  “The captain had power, so he was able to drive us out of the kingdom.” Deva thought for a minute, and then said, “No, it was not power that helped the captain drive us out of the kingdom. He had money to pay to the soldiers. So money is the finest thing in the world.” The two brothers argued for a long time. Ananda, the youngest brother, did not say anything. He was silent and thoughtful. He finally said that peace of mind is the finest thing in the world. His brothers thought him to be stupid. Before going to bed the two elder brothers decided that next morning they would set out in search of the finest things in the world. Deva decided to go to China in search of money. Shankla decided to go to Persia to raise a powerful army and Ananda stayed back.

एक समय की बात है, भारत में एक राजा था जो तीनों बेटों को छोड़कर दुनिया से चला गया। उनमें से सबसे बड़ा अपने पिता के बाद राजा बन गया होता, लेकिन राजा की सेना का कप्तान सत्ता के लिए भूखा था। उसने तीन बेटों को दूर भेज दिया और उसने खुद राज्य पर कब्जा कर लिया।  तीनो बेटों को नहीं पता था कि क्या करना है। उन्होंनेन्हों एक लंबा सफर तय किया। अंत में वे एक सराय पहुंचे। उन्होंनेन्हों अपना भोजन लेने के बाद, उन्होंनेन्हों एक दूसरे से पूछा कि वे अपने पिता के राज्य को वापस कैसे प्राप्त कर सकते हैं।  देवा उनमें से सबसे बड़े थे। उसने अपने भाइयों से पूछा, "दुनिया में सबसे बेहतरीन चीज क्या है?" दूसरे पुत्र शंकला ने जवाब दिया, "दुनिया में सबसे बेहतरीन चीज शक्ति है।”  "कप्तान के पास शक्ति थी, इसलिए वह हमें राज्य से बाहर निकालने में सक्षम था।"  देवा ने एक मिनट के लिए सोचा, और फिर कहा, "नहीं, हीं यह शक्ति नहीं थी जिसने कप्तान को राज्य से बाहर निकालने में मदद की। सैनिकों को भुगतान करने के लिए उनके पास पैसा था। तो पैसा दुनिया में सबसे बेहतरीन चीज है।" 

दोनों भाइयों ने लंबे समय से तर्क दिया।  आनंद, सबसे छोटे भाई ने कुछ भी नहीं कहा। वह शांत और विचारशील था। उन्होंनेन्हों अंततः कहा कि मन की शांति दुनिया में सबसे बेहतरीन चीज है। उनके भाइयों ने उन्हें बेवकूफ माना। बिस्तर पर जाने से पहले दो बड़े भाइयों ने फैसला किया कि अगली सुबह वे दुनिया की बेहतरीन चीजों की तलाश में बाहर निकल जाएंगे।  देवा ने पैसे की तलाश में चीन जाने का फैसला किया। शंकलाने शक्तिशाली सेना को एकत्रित करने के लिए फारस जाने का फैसला किया और आनंद वापस रुके थे।
